Great design
and an unusual approach
can drive environmental change

Half A Teaspoon
What’s in a name? Our quirky name is all about putting into perspective how little water is available across the globe. If one litre represents all the world’s water, just half a teaspoon is freshwater available for us to use. Visit our website to find out more.

Eco-products, Beautiful Design
At Half A Teaspoon we know that you want to do positive things for the environment. But we also believe that being eco-conscious shouldn’t mean compromising on style. That’s why all of our products begin with great design.

The ShowerWatch 321 Water

Half A Teaspoon’s first product, the ShowerWatch, is now installed in 1,300 hotel bathrooms and hundreds of private homes around Australia. This waterproof timer is the most sophisticated way to keep track of your time in the shower. ShowerWatch was a finalist in the 2006 Victorian Premier's Design Awards. Our second product raises people’s awareness about the environmental impact of bottled water and provides them with an easy-to-use alternative. The innovative design of 321 Water earned the People’s Choice Award on ABC TV’s The New Inventors, in early July 2009.

Keeping it green, keeping it local
Every aspect of our products from design to manufacture to delivery aims to meet rigorous ecological standards. And by manufacturing our products in Australia we gain greater quality control over our product, reduce our carbon footprint and support the local economy.

The Half A Teaspoon way
Half A Teaspoon is still in its early years, working hard to turn a modest profit. We are not interested in having a swanky office, ridiculous salaries or fast cars. We simply want to earn enough money so we can continue to develop pioneering products while also contributing generously to the worthwhile work of not-for-profit organizations with a focus on environmental issues.
